Dear Clay
Due to massive amounts of e-mail recieved daily and limited space, I am now going to have to read through all the e-mails for Clay and only post selected ones. I'm sorry I can't put each and every e-mail on-line, but I do have limited space. The requirements for the "Dear Clay" letters are:
1) The subject of the e-mail MUST say Dear Clay
2) The e-mail must be more than a couple sentences, but also not too long, unless for important reasons [Wanting him to e-mail you or write you a letter because you are a big fan does not count.]. One paragraph is a good size.
3) Your name and/or e-mail address must be at the end of the e-mail, seeing how there is no point posting an e-mail if the author is unknown.
Again, sorry for the restrictions, but I don't have a choice. If your letter fits the requirements, fee free to e-mail me at adorkable1169@yahoo.com to post your letter! I cannot guarentee that he'll ever actually see them, but you can always try!!
Note: Not Clay's E-mail address

Dear
Clay,
You have the best voice I have ever heard! I am on a break from dating,
but I would make an exception for you any day of the week(I'm 21 so I'm
legal!). I read somewhere that you were looking for a girl who "wasn't
too primped and permed and curled". I think I speak for all us ladies
when I say,"Where do we apply?!"

Dear
Clay,
Wow! What a season it has been for you! I was extremely sad when you didnt
make it, but I was soo proud of you on how you handled it...and also happy
hearing you'd have a single. I'm always going to be here for you. You've
touched me! I'm a singer, too. I've always gotten nervous on stage but
I think of you, and I can do it. You're my hero, Clay. Just always remember
that We're proud of you, We're praying for you and we love you...I would
go to the tour but you aren't coming to Colorado and moneys tight...but....
I'll always be your fan, (and buy every mag. with one pic. of you in it!!)

Dear

Although you didn't win, I thought you did very well. You have a strong
and powerful voice. Do you think other record companies will look for
you? I was looking forward to your album. What matters most is the vocals
and not the looks. Well, you do look cute...I am in the school's choir,
until I saw you sing, I thought that only pop singers were good. You were
better! Anyway, all the best in your future.(although you do not know
me!) My email is tweety_gem@hotmail.com.

Hi
Clay!
I am sending this e-mail to you on behalf of my sister. We
both are so sorry that you did not win and hope that you aren't too disappointed,
but everything works out like it's supposed to and I believe that God
has something wonderful in store for you. I wanted to ask you for something
that I am sure is impossible, but I have to ask for my sister. She is
36 years old and getting married for the first time. She has planned a
wedding 3 times and has had her heart broken 3 times. But that's ok because
God was saving someone very special for her-Jeff.They are getting married
the first of November and I want it to be something she will remember
for a lifetime. My brother is a preacher and he was supposed to perform
the ceremony, but on Oct.11, he fell dead at my feet.I am a nurse and
I tried CPR but it did not work, God wanted him.But we miss him so much!
Last night my sister called me and she said,"Sissy, Clay has such
a beautiful voice, wouldn't it be wonderful if he could sing at my wedding?"
She laughed of course because she knew that it could never happen. And
even though I am sure that you are far too busy, I had to ask you, for
her. We would pay for your expenses and your time just because it
would be the most wonderful surprise in the world for her.Thank you for
taking time to read this and we wish you only the best! May God bless
you always.

Dear
Clay,
Where to start? Okay, here we go. You took the stage at the
wildcard show and did your rendition of Elton John's "Don't Let the
Sun Go Down on ME" very fitting for that moment in time, and
from that performance I was hooked and nodded my head that it would eventually
be you verses someone else for the title in the end. There's this
intensity in your voice that takes the breath away from everyone in your
audience (even those who would never admit it), and I was pleased with
the fact that you bothered to switch up styles on us so we had a versatile
entertainer at our hands. As far as the Clay antics go, I figure
if I was in your position I might be subject to the same run of criticisms
from our most notorious judge. I can only presume from
the limited amount of interaction between Simon Cowell and the contestants
that gets airplay; behind his backhanded compliments sits a
person who doesn't do well socially with others. I was however,
highly offended when he said something about you being ugly, that was
just uncalled for. You give me a holler and I'd be more than exstatic
to come do your laundry and help with anything else you think you need.
(wink..wink)
If I may, our music industry is in grave need of revolution; and I would
love to see a singer true to his/her roots come alive and give the mainstream
billboard what's been missing in the last few years -- TRUE TALENT.
Broadway genre or not, I'd buy your CD in a hearbeat; because you've proven
to me you are a diligent worker, a phenomenal performer, and have
adequate eccletic taste in music. High five for that buddy!

I
just wanted to say thank you for touching my heart and soul. I did
not watch American Idol last year or for the the most part of this year
until a friend of mine told me I just had to hear your voice. I
instantly fell in love with the voice, smile and facial expressions showing
such personality. And we were all on the phone when the results
were announced.
Your voice sends chills down my spine and puts butterflies in my stomach
and goosebumps over my entire body. I'm sure you've heard that before
but there's a special reason that is important to me. My boyfriend
is in the military and has been sent overseas. The feeling I get
when I hear you sing reminds me of the feeling that I get when I see my
boyfriend, and it was way too long since I had felt that. All the
songs that I've heard you sing seem relevant to my situation. I
cannot count the number of times my eyes well up when I see you sing.
Thank you for bringing that back into my life, you might have just made
me a hopeless romantic!!!
No matter what you'll be my American Idol!!
Thanks Clay!
Amy
My
name is Jane and I am a big fan of yours! And so is my husband
John. We have been watching you grow and you can out sing any of
those singers that where on stage with you, including Ruben. Not
that he isn't good. But American went wrong when they picked him.
Because you sing and even look like an American Idol. I cried so
hard when they announced Ruben as the Idol. It really broke my heart.
But I know in life the right things don't always happen. And this
is one of them. But you are going to be a star and out shine him.
That I know for sure. I am looking forward to buying all your music.
I don't think I will ever get involved with American Idol again.
It hurts too much to see the wrong person win. You out shined Ruben
big time. And your voice was always on the money. Always smooth.
Ruben doen't have that. I guess you can say I am a little upset
and heart broken with the decision. God bless you Clay and all the
wonderful things you do in this world. God will bless you with so
much more than you will ever know. I think they need to find some
better judges too. Because if they where any good they would have
been for you instead of being in between that is not what judges are suppose
to do. And they did the wrong thing by not standing up for the best
and that was you. American would have voted differently.
Well take Care and Good luck. You won't need much you already have
a lot going for you. I love your smile and your sparkling eyes,
and that cute wink. It is going to make you a star someday soon.
Love always,
Jane

I am a big fan of yours, and I was very upset when
you were voted off the show. However, I was extremely happy when
I found out that you were also going to receive a record contract.
I have fallen in love with your amazing voice and your unbelievable talent,
you really have touched me. Thanks for sharing your talent with
me and the other millions of your fans.

Dear
Clay,
me and my friends had a american idol party and dressed in our homemade
shirts with clay written all over it. At the end we were so nervous and
when Ryan said Ruben won i screamed and ran behind the couch crying my
eyes out. My makeup was all over my face. I wish Ruben didn't win i loved
you since i first saw you audition. Each week you got better with your
voice and looks! Even though you didn't win you are still my A.I.! You
are so much better. I was shocked. I love you with all my heart and is
my true love and singer. You will make it far! I love you! Oh and i gave
up almonds, chocolate, coffee, mint, shellfish and mushrooms for you!
(since you are allergic) I would like to know what is your fav color,
food and if you have a gf. (I think you should really go out with Carmen)
Love You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! send to clayaikensgirl@aol.com

Dear
Clay, I wish you had won American Idol. I voted for you every night.I
cried when you didn't win, but you seemed fine about not winning. I'm
counting down the days until June 10th. I'll be first in line to buy your
cds. You're the nicest guy! And mean old Simon was giving you a hard time.
Tell Ruben hi for me. Good luck on your cds!

Hi
Clay! I wish I would have had the chance to meet
you before your debut on American Idol. I'm a 21 year
old senior psychology major at Kentucky Wesleyan
College. (Haha that sounded like some kind of blind
date add) Anyway, I'm planning on getting a Ph.D. in
Rehabilitation Sciences at UK so I can work with
people who have Developmental Disabilities. I've been
doing my practicum at a center/home for people with
MR/DD and in the summer I work at a Christian camp
where one week we host a camp for those with MR/DD.
Anyway, it's such a rare gift when God blesses us with
the ability to work with these disabilities. I find a
lot of people are uncomfortable with it and I strive
to find people who love it as much as I do that I can
connect with. I also love to sing and sing for praise
& worship bands at my small college. Well, that's the
tragedy of growing up so far apart and never knowing
such wonderful people as yourself. I just adore you,
your glowing personality, and your beautiful voice!
You and your family will be in my prayers as I sure
your life continues to change! If you're ever in
Kentucky look me up! God Bless!

Dear Clay,
I love you so much! I will be at the Charlotte, NC tour in section 122.
If you came to talk to me before, after, or during the performance
I would be so delighted. You truly are the American Idol. American society
needs an Idol like you because of your faith in God, your down-to-earth
ego, sweet personality, and your talent. Even though you didn't "win"
the American Idol show, you are still the American Idol of many
people in America. May you always have your passion for singing.
Have faith in God to lead you in the right direction whether it's singing
and/or helping children with special needs I know you will succeed.
Sincerely,
Sarah--my e-mail: Usachick827@aol.com

Dear
Clay,
I am a 4th year doctoral student at the University of Arkansas.
Normally I do not have much time to spend in front of the television.
However over the course of the past 5 months my wife and I made time to
sit down and watch you develop as a performer. Your attributes as
a person are the type that are seldom seen in the pop culture. I
applaud you ability to remain the person that you are, but at the same
time make the required changes for Paula, Randy, and Simon. This
is the first time in my 33 years that I have ever felt inclined to write
a performing artist or someone of popularity. I teach many students
at the University who are about your age. I just hope that some
of the individuals who are your age (and younger) that tuned in to
American Idol this season now recognize that "good guys" do
not always finish last. You have a wonderful gift. Thank you
for sharing it with the world and with my family. Although
you did not win the competition, you did something that far exceeds American
Idol
you won the hearts of millions. Go do what you were meant
to do! I look forward to helping further your career by purchasing
your upcoming albums and eventually seeing you in concert. I hope
someday you will consider a Christmas Concert. If you ever get a chance
maybe we will here from you someday dmam318@msn.com. Keep
up the awesome work!

Dear
Clay,
Hey! =) My name is Holly Driggers, I am 15 years old, and I am one of
your biggest fans. You have impacted my life so much, and I am so proud
of you for making the top 2 out of 70,000 on American Idol. I think you
are wonderful, one, because you're from my homestate (YAY!) and two, you
have this passion for helping kids learn and this voice that I find so
touching. I feel like I am connected to you on so many different levels,
because we are both from NC, but also because I have Cerebral Palsy, and
to finally discover that someone as sweet as you is helping kids learn
is awesome.
You have inspired so much through your singing, every time I hear you,
on a CD or TV, it touches me. You are truly amazing and I know you will
have a great career along whatever path you choose to go. You have made
me want to become a better person and have inspired me to do so many things,
that a few months ago, I would have never thought possible. One day, I
hope to thank you in person. Thank you for your wonderful personality
and your outlook on life. I truly admire you, and love you more than you
will ever know. Every week that you were on American Idol, you impressed
me with your voice but also with your maturity and professionalism.
I was disappointed that you did not win American Idol, but I believe God
has a plan for everyone and I think he had it in his cards for you to
move on to bigger and better things than having 'the' title. No matter
what happens with you, I know it is going to be amazing and you will always
have a fan in me. :)
Love Always,
Holly Driggers
Dear
Clay,
I'm sorry you lost. But if you want to start a career as a singer, you
can write songs and maybe companys will hire you. Or you can enter the
next American Idol. Or did you want to get a degree. Well, what ever you
want to do, don't let anything stop you.
Still your fan,

Dear
Clay,
I would go with you to the end of the earth! And now that my teeny bopper
moment is over, I'd like to say just how talented I think you are. One
of the reasons I enjoyed watching you so much was because of how genuinely
nice you really seemed. That's something that television could definately
use more of. Maybe a little bit of it rubbed off on Simon along the way!
Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. You're definately going
to make it.

Dear
Clay,
I don't know whether you will get this or not,
but you have certainly won me over--BIG TIME!! I think what got
me hooked was your choice to become a teacher in Special Ed.
I think you would be a great one. When I was in my special ed class in
5th grade, I always used to hate being sent to music class. I think in
your case, you would have the ability to get your students to love music.
I just wish you had been around back then. I would have had a totally
different attitude. My teacher Miss Sayer hated to tell me it was time
for music, because it would bring out the worst in me. Of course a music
teacher that likes to sit on garbage cans and call them her throne didn't
exactly spark my interest. I hope you are able to mesh the two together
and make them both work. The people with Autism and those like myself
with learning disabilities really need you. Without meaning to, you have
made yourself an advocate for our cause. Love ya!

Dear
Clay,
I'm not sure whether or not you will ever read this
e-mail, but I just had to try and find a way to contact you. I started
watching American Idol this season, just for the sake of watching something
on T.V and I saw you. After hearing you sing (which was amazing
if I may say so!) I wanted to find out more about you, and I learned
about all the work you do with people who have special needs.
I myself work with severly autisitc teenagers, and I just wanted to say
that you truly are a wonderful person. I really feel like your a
human being, not just someone on T.V and thats a rare thing to find in
the pool of celebs out there! I really look up to you, because
even though you are incredibly talented and all, you still take the time
to give back to other people. Your wonderful Clay!

I believed we had a combined total of about 300 votes. You have

I
just wanted to say thank you for being such a wonderful person.
I really respect you and look up to you for all you do. I think
it is really awesome that you put your life and your future into God's
hands. I think it is awesome how you always wore your WWJD bracelet
throughout the compitition. I'm glad everyone will see that you
believe in God, and I know that you will make a difference in many people's
lives. You are always thinking of others and considering other people's
feelings. You are a great role-model and I look up to you.

I wanted to thank you for being the all around good guy! Good luck

Dear
Clay,
I just wanted to take to time to let you know that since you appeared
on American Idol, you have become my hero. The work that you do with
kids who are metally ill, is enough to make anyone like you, but to me
you are more than that. I see you as a great human being, not only for
what you do, but for how you do it. You appear to do everything with
great pleasure, and you don't do anything for the recognition, you do
it
just to help others. Every since American Idol, I have tried to model
myself after you, by often saying to myself, how would Clay do this? I
thank you for the positive influence you have had on my life, and I want
you to know that you have made me a better person. I also wish you
much luck in your music career, and in all you do.
Forever thankful,

I
just wanted to thank you ever so much for all that you've done.
Your impact is immeasurable. Words cannot even describe the inspiration
that you have given me to achieve my goals. Please, never change
who you are because you have one of the most beautiful hearts I have ever
seen. Keep touching people in that special way that you do and I
promise that we will always be there on the other end supporting you through
all of your journeys!

HEY! My name is Carrie Wittmer
and I live in Winston-Salem, NC. I sure hope this letter makes
it through all the thousands-or even millions of other letters that are
sent and I hope it actually gets to you!! I just want to let you know
how much I love you, and how much of an impact you have had on me. Before
I saw the show I was just kinda dull and stuff if you know what I mean.
But then I saw you in the top 32(i voted soooo many times, but I
knew you'd be the wildcard) and I walked into school the next morning
I had this smile on my face and I was like HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY LoL and everyone
was like what happened to you Carrie? And i told them about how I love
you so much, and then they watched American Idol and they LOVED you and
they, along with me voted for you all the way! I actually even made a
new friend-we had Clay parties every Tuesday and Wednesday nights at her
house! I love you soooo much Clay, and no offense to Ruben or anything
but I burst into tears when you didn't win-it was my birthday!!!(me and
my friends voted sooo much!) I ca't wait until I see you in concert in
Charlotte in August Clay! I love you your personality and your voice sooo
much, and thanks for having a great impact on me!
Love,

Dear
Clay,
Hello there. I am a 47 year old woman
who is so proud of you as if you were
her own son. I know that your mother is proud
of you. You just seem like such a sweet, loveable, kind
, honest young man. You always put
GOD first in your life and that says a lot about
a person. You are very special even if you don't think
that you are. Clay, I used to babysit for this
couple that is from the town that I live
here in Kentucky. He was transferred from his job at IBM
to Raliegh around 19 or 20 years ago. She works
in real estate. We haven't heard from them since my father
died in 1985. Their names are Vernon (Bud)
and Rose Brogli. I am not for sure
where they live at in Raliegh. I have never
been to North Carolina before. I was just
wondering if maybe you might attend the
same church with them or happen to know
them. Their childrens' names are Matthew &
LeeAnn . Matthew is around 21 or 22, and LeeAnn is around
24 or 25, somewhere around those ages. I can't
remember how old they were when they left.
I never missed an episode of American Idol
. You always got my vote every week. I
believe that you will go far in your career as long
as you put GOD first in your life. I wish
you luck in your endeavors in life
whatever you choose to do. You will
go far. I would love to be able to
attend one of your concerts, but I have epilepsy
and the loud noise and flickering lights could
trigger a seizure. I Also tried to order
one of you t-shirts showing that I support you,
but by the time I started to order one they had
already sold out. Thank you again
for your beautiful singing and your sweet
smile. GOD BLESS YOU and keep you in HIS
care. LUCKYLADY4756@YAHOO.COM.
